Men's African Statement Jewelry - Orisha Elegba, Elegbara, Ellegua Necklace - Khepera Adornments, LLC

Elegbara, is comprised of two words. The word "ele" means messenger. "Agbara" means power or authority. Its pantheon is within the Orisha-Ifá system of Yorùbá religion in Nigeria. His colors are red and black.

His number is 3, or any multiple of 3. His day of the week is Monday, and the 3rd day of every month.

Elegba/Elegbara is a deity, the divine messenger of Olodumare. Elegba is a guardian, protector and communicator.

Through divination, he guides the fate of man. In West Africa and all through the Diaspora he is revered. The Fon call him Legba. He is called Èsú (eshu), Èlegba and Èlegbara among the Yoruba. In Brazil for the practitioners of Candomble, he is Exu. The Lucumi of the New World know him as Eshu Eleggua. These references are sacred praise names or "oriki" for Eshu-Elegbara. Oriki is used to describe the attributes or to recount the adjectives that describe an orisha.

Always store the jewelry in a plastic jewellery bag to protect it from humidity.

Do not use  abrasive jewelry cleaners.

Clean your jewelry with a soft cloth and mild detergent with water if required, rinse with clean water and dry with a soft cloth. For brass finishes utilize brass polish.

If jewelry gets wet due to perspiration, wash gently with water and wipe dry with a soft cloth.

Glass or Crystal jewelry pieces are very delicate and could break easily. They should be stored between layers of cotton to avoid breakage.

Leather jewelry will change its color shade with time and exposure to sun. It has to be oiled and conditioned with mink oil to increase its life span and keep it supple and soft.
Do not expose leather to high temperatures and moisture.
